ISA’s operating and financial results evidence that it is a solid, profitable, sustainable company and one of the best investment options in the market. Its impressive performance in 2022 leveraged the development and progress of the country and the region. On the one hand, it delivered double-digit returns to its shareholders (ROE 11,9%) and, through investments, taxes and dividends, drove social progress and infrastructure, making Colombia and the region increasingly equitable and competitive.

Financially, ISA remained on the path of profitable growth. Net income of COP 2,2 trillion was 32% higher than in 2021. Operating revenues were COP 13,4 trillion, an increase of 20% compared to 2021. Assets closed at COP 78,7 trillion, an increase of 28% compared to 2021. In addition, investments of COP 4,1 trillion were made during the period.

In line with its growth strategy, the Company was awarded three transmission projects and put into operation seven energy projects, one battery project, and 76 network expansions and reinforcements. Several of these projects enabled the decarbonization of the energy matrix through the entry of renewable energies into the system. In Colombia, Cerromatoso-Chinú-Copey and the El Río substation entry into operation is noteworthy. In Brazil, the delivery of the first large-scale battery energy storage project also stands out.

Together, these projects will generate annual revenues of USD 167 million, adding more than 2.200 km of circuit to the transmission grid.

In the Road Concessions business unit, as a contribution to the diversification of the portfolio, the free flow implementation at the Troncal Quinta road toll post on Ruta 5, the main road artery of Chile, stands out. This system improves the flow of traffic and connectivity. In Colombia, Ruta Costera completed its first year of operation.

In the Telecommunications and ICT business unit, in a year of great challenges in business and markets, the Company achieved a customer satisfaction level of 8,41, two points higher than the previous year.

Regarding sustainability, ISA contributed to the transition to a cleaner economy by offsetting 41 thousand tons of CO2 through carbon credits and renewable energy certificates. Today, 11 companies in five countries in all three business units are certified as carbon neutral. Similarly, in 2022 the Dow Jones Sustainability Index included ISA in the top five companies with the best social performance worldwide, in the electric power utilities category.

In addition, a positive impact on society and the environment was achieved through the implementation of various initiatives with investments of COP 232 billion in 2022. “Our rigorous strategy to capture efficiencies for continuous improvement in performance and competitiveness, the right decisions in managing our business portfolio, and the implementation of an efficient financing structure allowed us to achieve these outstanding results.

We will continue focusing on generating value for investors and society, ensuring our support to the development of society, generating positive environmental impact, and contributing to the competitiveness of the countries we operate in,” said Juan Emilio Posada Echeverri, CEO of ISA.

ISA is exploring investment opportunities in tenders in the region for USD 21 billion in 2023. 74% corresponds to the Electric Power Transmission business unit and 26% to the Road Concessions business unit.

By country, the largest stake will be in Brazil (51%) due to the ANNEL tenders in June and December, which will total USD 10,8 billion. The second country is Chile, where electric power transmission opportunities amounting to USD 900 million have been identified in bids for transmission lines, substations, and a battery storage project. Also, in the Road Concessions business unit, Chile is expected to participate in the bids and re-bids of the Ministry of Public Works, which exceed USD 4,3 billion.

In Colombia, UPME calls for bids exceeding USD 2 billion and road tenders for USD 1,2 billion are expected.

In Peru, opportunities in electric power transmission bids for USD 1,1 billion have been identified, including the Peru-Ecuador interconnection.
