ISA is contributing 1 billion Colombian pesos to promote ‘Colombia cuida Colombia’

Through this contribution, ISA wants to foster this alliance between civil society and the private sector that is connected to various sectors of the country to mitigate the impact of Covid-19.

In addition, this contribution will drive the protection of health staff in Colombian hospitals through medical kits.

On May 1, 2020, different Colombian sectors will be linked in the spirit of solidarity and empathy, through music, humor, and inspiring stories.

ISA Group has decided to join this initiative with the contribution of COP 1 billion out of COP 10 billion allocated to support different initiatives aimed to protect Colombians’ health during this pandemic.

The Covid-19 pandemic has mobilized the country around initiatives of unity and solidarity. A clear example is ‘Colombia cuida Colombia’ -an alliance between the civil society and the private sector to connect people, companies, foundations, enterprises, and Government- to align efforts facing the country’s health emergency.

ISA Group’s contribution will be invested in medical kits to protect health staff. These kits will include protection goggles, masks, face shields, fluid-resistant gowns, gloves, and alcohol gel, among other items.

“From ISA Group, we have decided to support initiatives that are being implemented on different fronts to overcome this situation. Specially, we want to protect health staff in cities with an extremely low resource. This group of heroes inspire us a lot because healthcare professionals are the front line against this pandemic, so we want them to feel our deep appreciation for their efforts”, said, Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, ISA’s CEO.

ISA’s Group humanitarian aid strategy has been focused on participating in three action fronts: the conduction of diagnostic tests, the support of research programs and initiatives such as ‘Colombia cuida Colombia’ to provide basic medical supplies in vulnerable areas.

The other initiatives where ISA Group has contributed to fight this pandemic amount to COP 4 billion for increasing the number of diagnostic tests, and the support to an experimental convalescent plasma pilot project to complement treatment of patients with Covid-19.

On Friday May 1, 2020, at 5:00 pm, on the radio, and from 8:30 pm, on TV and social networks, the main event called ‘Colombia cuida Colombia’ will be held with the participation of artists such as Juanes, Andrés Cepeda, Bomba Estéreo, Chocquibtown, Carlos Vives, Fonseca, and Yuri Buenaventura, among others, besides other national personalities and celebrities.
