At the ISA Group, we believe that diversity make us unique, nurtures work teams, and provides new outlooks for our business and the way we do things. Believing this, and believing that our essence is what connects each other, we present to you Otras Miradas (Other Insights), our companies’ Diversity and Inclusion Program.
Our objective is to identify and understand all existing stereotypes and forms of discrimination, so that we acquire all the knowledge brought to us by Otras Miradas, and unlearn what we have learned, building the way we relate to each other from scratch.
The implementation of this Diversity and Inclusion Program requires the use of pedagogy in all areas of the companies, so that we all equally know what paths will be followed, being consistent with the message we send.
We understand diversity as all the differences that exist when people interact, which enrich work teams. A diverse culture is a strength to be competitive, innovative, and disruptive individuals. These three concepts are immersed in the ISA2030 Strategy and are key to reach the goals defined.
For its part, inclusion has to do with managing work environments and work flows that integrate all the population, by providing knowledge and infrastructure tools that facilitate proper equality conditions for all employees.
Otras Miradas has four action fronts:
Divergent thinking (multiculturalism and generations). We already experience it in our group. All the business-related processes are addressed through a multi-Latin approach. The challenge is to continue to guarantee inclusion conditions so that all the cultures we live in continue to integrate into the teams. Styles of thought. This is directly related to connecting people’s specific skills with their job, respecting individuality, and benefiting from their potential, in positions that really allow them to exploit their talent and be more productive.
Many generations coexist in our companies, and all of them have unique characteristics given their age and experience. Combining all the expertise that today many of you have in your areas, ensuring its proper transmission, and opening the doors to people with other insights, is the complement we seek to innovate and be disruptive.
Regarding gender equality, today, 25% of management positions are held by women, and we reaffirm our commitment to increase this number. But gender equality has to do not only with women’s leadership. There is also an important element that invites us to rethink about men just being providers and workers, so we welcome these new masculinities that redefine the role of men in the family.
Finally, let’s talk about sexual diversity. Our interest is to attract the best talent, and we understand that people’s skills, talent, and value go beyond their tastes, which is why we seek to foster work environments based on respect.
From this moment, we will see through our diversity shades and, through our collective commitment, we will keep on our path to be a respectful, inclusive organization, aligned with sustainable work relationships.
Disability. This requires us to rethink individual processes, structures, and biases, in order to guarantee the necessary conditions for all of us to have equal access to job opportunities and workspaces.
